Wells for wishes,
And stars for the night.
To look up in the sky,
And see it full of light.
And then I look down,
And see the world around,
And wonder if you are there,
Standing somewhere.

Edgar Allen Poe and the Monday Blues
Oh Edgar Allen Poe,
How fast your life went,
So much sadness through your life did grow,
And how your life came to pass,
We just don’t know,
There are some guesses we have today,
We know your stress did weigh,
But the worst we say,
A bad case of the Mondays,
A day that has minutes passing with delay,
It has no sunshine,
Makes whites turn grey,
Sleep never seems to stay,
And all the delicious food on display,
Only seems okay.
The Mondays really blow,
Because they pass so slowly,
Even though the rest of the week just seems to flow,
And Fridays oh how they glow,
On Mondays, all you can hope for is tomorrow.
While Monday casts such a shadow,
So may you rest in peace,
After the awful way you did decease,
Knowing that on Monday we will call the police,
And I’ll make sure he never gets released.

Pessimist
Why be a pessimist?
When I can make a longer list,
Of why to be an optimist,
There is sunlight,
Then there is rain,
There is love,
Then there is pain,
Soak in the sun in all its glory,
It brings flowers,
And kites,
Rain can close the school,
And make puddles that rule,
Love can bring such happiness,
Maybe pain,
But don’t stress,
Enjoy the rest,
And let’s soak in the best!
And put life to the test,
And enjoy all the sunshine,
And lollipops!
Skateboards!
And raindrops!
And never forget it is the little things,
That makes you want to sing!
A little bit about my lovely editor!
Judy Golden is my wonderful grandmother, who has supported and encouraged me in all my artistic adventures! She was the first person I opened up to about my desire to publish a poetry book, and showed my poetry to! Not only did she love them, but she helped me edit them, and navigate the world of professional poetry! If it wasn't for her, I probably would never have had the confidence to publish this book. My grandma has always been there for me, and I am so honored to have her name on the cover of this book with me!
